Washington Post Features Maret's Horizons Program
Oct 04, 2011
Maret School was featured in The Washington Post for its partnership with Horizons Greater Washington, a privately-funded educational enrichment program that aims to empower students from low-income families to realize their full potential, in part by keeping them engaged academically as well as socially during the summer months. The Horizons program became even more critical to families in the region this summer as local public agencies and school systems slashed summer school funding due to diminished budgets. Maret, whose teachers provide instruction to participating students, has served as a host site since 2000, and was joined by St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School in 2009 and Norwood School last year.
