International schools emphasize international education, which can include: knowledge of other world regions and cultures; familiarity with international and global issues; skills in working effectively in global or cross-cultural environments and using information from different sources around the world; ability to communicate in multiple languages; and respect for other cultures and peoples.
They also often adopt an international curriculum such as that of the International Baccalaureate (IB) or the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
