The Potomac School

The Potomac School is an educational community focused on developing exemplary habits of heart and mind necessary for a life-long pursuit of excellence. Our graduates are accomplished, confident, multi-faceted and ready for the challenges of college and beyond.

Potomac expects every student to attain the highest level of achievement in academics and extra-curriculars, developing an enduring passion for learning. Our faculty provides the kind of transformative teaching that inspires intellectual curiosity, depth of thought and mastery of core knowledge.

Unique among peer schools, Potomac comprises four distinct yet interconnected divisions on one campus, united through a shared mission, integrated curriculum, and a deeply-rooted community. We enjoy the beauty and natural resources of our 90-acre campus, our proximity to Washington, DC, and to the wider world through partnerships with institutions such as National Geographic. Our voluntary community service program includes such school-initiated projects as PODER, the academic support program our students direct in partnership with Alternative House.

Founded in 1904, Potomac takes special pride in our treasured relationships--between teachers and students, among students, and within our larger community.
