Browne Academy

Browne Academy is a co-educational day school enrolling 270 students in Preschool-Grade 8. We are dedicated to the development of the individual child as an independent, lifelong learner who embraces the core values of excellence, diversity, character and community. These values form the basis for preparing students for competitive secondary schools in the metropolitan area.

Founded in 1941, the school features small class sizes and a child-centered program centered on our founder's belief in progressive education. Browne's academic environment offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes creative problem solving and critical thinking skills; 11 acres of fields and streams offer outdoor learning opportunities. The school also provides a foreign language program from Pre-school through Grade 8. Browne's state-of-the-art Center for Athletics and Performing Arts provides a versatile space that not only allows students to engage in indoor athletic activities but supplies a venue for musical performances, class plays, school assemblies, and community gatherings.

Extracurricular activities include competitive team sports, tae kwon do, soccer, choir, handbells, band, drama, publications, Scouts, and student council. Extended day and an eight-week summer camp program are also available.
