The Barnesville School

The Barnesville School opened in 1969 with a mission of providing a joyful and supportive learning environment for the development of excellence in each of us. The school continues that mission inside the classroom and out. Students are given hands-on experiences that prepare them for success upon reaching high school. Children are involved in a variety of activities, field trips, and interactive learning opportunities that allow them to develop skills and knowledge in many ways. Additionally, our diverse and caring faculty not only bring a wealth of skill and experience to the classroom, but they serve as role models for our students. At all levels, our focus is upon the development of the whole child - the social, the emotional, the academic, the artistic, the musical, and the athletic. Whenever possible, connections are made between the disciplines to make learning come alive. In math and reading, flexible grouping between homerooms helps each student realize his/her potential. The Barnesville School is dedicated to serving those students that have sufficient self-direction to ensure the development of confidence, responsibility, and independence; who have the potential to achieve success within our curriculum; and who have families that support the goals and values of the school.
